Snacks and Birthdays

  • Birthday party invitations may be distributed at school if all students in the class are included. To find individual student information, you will need to contact the family directly. You may sign up to be a part of the school directory through the PTO.

  • Please do not send food items or goodies (ex. pencils, erasers, stickers, toys, etc.) to school for birthday celebrations.

  • Donating a favorite book to the class library is a great way to honor your child's birthday.

  • Lockers should not be decorated by students or parents for birthdays. The teacher will put up a sign or poster for birthdays and/or celebrity of the week.

  • Your child’s classroom teacher will plan a small classroom celebration for your child’s birthday.

Why do we have snack?

Our brains need energy to function and food supplies us with that energy. So please send a snack every day. If you wish to send an additional snack for us to have on-hand for students that forget their snack - please feel free to do so.

Every morning, students will be allowed to enjoy a small, healthy snack. Due to allergies, snacks must consist of fresh or dried fruit and/or vegetables only (ex. raisins, fresh fruit, dried apricots, carrot sticks, etc.)  Also, Snacks must be peanut and tree nut safe (including products exposed to peanuts). I also ask that your child's snack be quick and non-messy. Please send a spoon if your child needs one to eat his/her snack - they will not be provided. Each student is in charge of their own snack...no sharing.

Also, students are only allowed to bring water into the classroom. If your child wishes to have a water bottle at school, please send a labeled, leak-proof water bottle. Preferably with a straw, not a screw top (they spill very easily). There will be certain times throughout the day that the students will be allowed to drink from their water bottles.
